Awesome Valentine's Day Gift Ideas for Breast Cancer Survivors | My Fabulous Boobies

Awesome Valentine gift ideas for breast cancer survivors

Valentine's day is coming up! I have a few awesome ideas of gifts that you can get that wonderful breast cancer survivor in your life.

Confession:  I absolutely LOVE Valentine's day.

Some of my fondest Valentine's day memories are from my childhood -- collecting valentine cards from every classmate. Back then, holidays were very egalitarian. You gave gifts to every person in your class and you received gifts from everyone. I always felt very affirmed by receiving so many cards and candies at one time. If you have a wonderful breast cancer survivor in your life (or caregiver), I'm sure they would appreciate a nice token of love from you.

I am a huge fan of Amazon. I developed this unnatural shopping crush while I was stuck in the house on disability. The ability to order things online and have them show up at my door within a few days completely ruined going to the mall for me. (laughs) So, I am sharing items that I have curated from the site. I do believe that any one of them would make an awesome and thoughtful gift for a survivor (and all of them would be AMAZE-BALLS!).

*no pressure though*

Because of the harshness of the treatments that we go through, our needs may be slightly different from others. These gift suggestions are in no particular order.

Gifts... gifts... and more gifts.

UGG Australia Women's Shiny Classic Mini Double Zip Cancer Awareness

One thing I remember about my time in treatment, chemotherapy is harsh on your nails. In fact, they fall off. (Its not pretty and it can be rather painful) However, a nice, cozy pair of pink Uggs might have made my life a little better. My feet would be warm and the lining would be soft on my sensitive toes. These are adorable and designed in honor of breast cancer awareness.

Kindle Voyage, 6" High-Resolution Display (300 ppi) with Adaptive Built-in Light, PagePress Sensors, Wi-Fi - Includes Special Offers

Chemotherapy infusions take hours. HOURS. Between the time in the waiting room, the time in preparation for the infusion and then the actual infusion, you can be in the cancer center for many hours. (My infusions took between 4-5 hours) Reading material is a good thing. A kindle is handy, lightweight and super convenient. I received one as a gift when I started chemotherapy and I treasured having it at each infusion.

Plush Fleece Throw Blanket: Super Soft, Large 90in x 90in Size, Non-piling (Red)

A comfy, plush, extra soft blanket is a beautiful thing. Good for use at the cancer center (sometimes the infusion can cause your body temperature to drop and she may want to wrap up in a nice blanket and nap) and also for use at home when she's curled up on the couch resting.

Enesco Children of The Inner Light Sisters in Spirit Breast Cancer Awareness Mug, 4.25-Inch

A cheery mug can brighten any cold, winter day. Warm drinks are a winter staple for many and a good cup of tea can soothe and comfort a nauseous tummy.

Yogi Ginger Tea

Chemotherapy has a terrible side effect of upsetting your stomach. Ginger tea is very helpful to settle a queasy tummy and it is very tasty too.

Breast Cancer Treatment Planner & Journal (2-Piece Set)

It is very cathartic to write down your thoughts about what's happening to you while going through breast cancer treatment. And if you're not big on writing just for the sake of writing, a journal is also very helpful to take notes in regarding your treatment. I had a special journal that I took to every doctor's appointment so that I could write down anything I was told (my memory was shot because of chemotherapy) and also so that I could write questions that popped up between visits. Very helpful tool.

Black Pearl Creations
Cream Heart Hat
My pink ribbon sister Joede, makes some very beautiful crocheted items. Everything is handmade and simply gorgeous. When I lost my hair, I refused to wear a wig but I definitely needed a hat on my very bald head. One of Black Pearl's handmade hats (or scarves) is a great gift. And a good way to support a 2x breast cancer survivor as well.

Tiffany Paloma Picasso collection, Loving Heart Pendant

Okay... so I slipped in ONE piece of jewelry. I'm not a huge jewelry wearer, but I've always thought that the Paloma Picasso collection of  Loving Heart jewelry was adorable. And let's be honest... most girls get excited by that blue box.

Make sure you get her something nice for Valentine's Day.

Well, these are my ideas for thoughtful gifts for your favorite breast cancer survivor. I hope that you have a wonderful holiday. If you don't have a valentine, buy yourself something to affirm your love to you.
